Police and Emergency Services BJJ Team Open Mat this Sunday 8th September at 9:30am – it’s a normal class for us, so come along! We’re opening our mat to the team, it’s something they do every 4-6 weeks, and more-so lately as the Police and Emergency Services Games are on next month and some of them will be competing. It’s free for Red Boat Kung Fu students as it’s a usual class for us.
Chi Sau Workshop Sunday 15th September $99 per person, all levels welcome, starts at 11am and will run for approx 4hrs!
Hi all ..What a great week of training with a big finish on saturday…This week as promised is foundation drills and skills …When i was competing i was constantly being asked what was my secret?…Why was i getting a different and better result than others..There was no secret i simply did more foundation work than anyone i know…And it was never boring or monotinous for me …I thrived on it …For me every rep and every workout got me that one step closer to my goals…So i was happy to do it..I was once told as a youngster …You can only build your skills as high as your foundation is deep ..I have always lived by that…So this week we climb the mountain…See you on the mat ….Sifu
HI everyone great night last night..We will run this level of crazy combos till saturday then we will start with a new anchor point next week …What we need right now also is a solid week of foundation drills …Toe the line …Marching Drills…Full spectrum footwork drills etc…So looking forward to next week already…But today i rest ive been pushing the envelope a bit so im forcing myself not to train…Today Andrew will be dropping pearls of wisdom at the 12.15…and tonight March will be doing what March does best..in my head ive nicknamed his bjj style twisted synergy… Seems appropriate to me..Anyway back on for the 12.15 tomorrow…conditioning …combos and sparring see you on the mat…Regards Sifu
Great effort last night everyone..Went a bit further with crazy combos…further again tonight plus forms especially chum kil and bil jee…New warm up/ conditioning….And weapons at the end for those qualified to do so…Something for everyone …Dont forget big chi sau workshop on Sunday the 15th sept @ 11am allow for the day ..This will be the most detailed study of chi sau ever !! proceeds will buy us a new wooden dummy…The event will be on facebook within 24 hrs.. What a great night last night!! Thanks for everyones efforts …have many crazy combos to experiment with…Tonight we play with some more im really looking forward to it…For me personally i have had the best training week in 12 months …Yep its been 12 months since my knee started to break down and 6 months since i damaged my hip…My training became very very narrow to avoid making things worse and of course to minimise pain..neither of which have been entirely successful…But you know the story…Anyway lately i have had some minor breakthroughs which feel like major ones …Allowing me to regain a bit of ground and finally increase training intensity which i have missed so much…Yeah i still need surgury but this means ill go under the knife with a baseline fitness much higher than i thought possible ..So im on a bit of a high right know…I love coaching of that there is no doubt ..But for my own journey training has been who i am ..Its all about Mojo and i got a little bit back …Excited!…See you on the mat..Kuen Yao Sum Faat !…Sifu
