BLUEPRINT OF WING CHUN

Hi guys,

Just a quick message to remind you to not miss tomorrow’s class. We’re going to be doing a profile on Wing Chun. All blocks, strikes, footwork, techniques, attacks etc. We will be pressed to fit it all in, but the motivation behind it is so you can quantify the system so you know exactly the volume of skills you need to master to become one.

It’s a must.

See you there,
Sifu

Attention all Gold belts and above, we are pushing back the Gold belt workshop (originally scheduled for this weekend) to next Sunday 6th May.

This is a chance for all Gold belts to train together, work on our new advancements in chi sau and have a get together afterwards.

Please reply to this email/post/tweet if you can make it.

See you then.

We are closed on ANZAC Day, so no classes are on. If you want to come in to do your own training let us know and we may be able to organise a couple of hours of Open Mat time.

The next grading will be after Sifu gets back from QLD. Either Saturday the 19th or 26th of May.

BJJ gradings will now be held on the Tuesday evening BJJ Foundations class prior to the grading date. So we hope to see more consistent steps forward in your progression with BJJ.

As promised during the Gathering last month, the first of the Gold belt and above workshops is scheduled for Sunday 29th April!

As written above:

URBAN SURVIVAL WORKSHOP

24-26 Botany Road Redfern (opposite Waterloo IGA)

This is a must for all of us. After 40 years teaching urban combat skills it is more relevant today than it’s ever been. Blunt force trauma and knife attacks are the 2 main causes of death in the urban environment. In many cases they are avoidable. The skills you will learn are situation awareness (never be a soft target again), reading body language, the 7 stage attack ritual and counter measures, how to defend and apply chokes, understand and apply escape and evasion tactics, weapons disarms and much more.

Sunday the 18th March was to be Urban Survival, but we are changing this to a Free Forms Workshop!

Starting at 10:30, everyone and all levels are invited to attend. It’s a small gesture of thanking you all for being so supportive of the school.

Urban Survival will be rescheduled to a later date TBA!

John Will is back for his first seminar with us this year! If you are a beginner in BJJ you are still encouraged to attend, John’s a fantastic coach and breaks everything down step by step and walks you through the techniques as we practise them.

This seminar’s theme is working some ‘old school’ Jiu Jitsu – the Turtle. Becoming more competent on all fours will give you much more confidence in escaping to your knees. John has a great session planned and totally appropriate for beginners!!

Get your names down asap! Or email back to confirm your attendance!

Cost is $90 and well worth the time and effort!!! (cash payment appreciated!)
